Rusty is a native of South Carolina. After graduating from Wofford College where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Rusty began a career in manufacturing. It didn’t take long for Rusty to realize that, at that time, manufacturing didn’t appeal to his sense of common sense, so it was time for a career change.
After a short stint in the manufacturing sector and after a less than satisfactory experience when Rusty and his wife bought their first home, Rusty decided to become a Realtor®. This passion for helping people with one of the largest transactions of their lives allowed Rusty to serve Columbia residents in the home buying and selling process like no other.
Once he had completed his first year as a real estate salesman in 1995, Rusty was runner-up for rookie agent of the year with his company. That led to an invitation to train new sales associates (a passion he maintains to this day). Rusty loves seeing new agents utilize the training he provides to become top-producing salespersons in their own right.
With 30+ years of real estate experience in the Columbia real estate market, Rusty has extensive market knowledge and expertise in structuring real estate purchase and sales contracts, negotiation, and especially closing the real estate transaction (typically the hardest part of any real estate sale). There are several techniques Rusty utilizes in representing real estate buyers and sellers with their transactions that most real estate agents are not willing or able to do.
Whether you’re a first-time home buyer, looking for a luxury lake-front home, downsizing, upsizing for more room for your family, or combining households, Rusty can help you get the job done in the least amount of time and with the least amount of inconvenience, thus maximizing your purchase or sale experience.
In his free time, Rusty enjoys attending car shows with his BMW show car and staying healthy through exercise and proper nutrition. He and his wife also enjoy traveling to the beach and other relaxing locations with family and friends.
